Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE)
An Independent Educational Evaluation (IEE) in Texas refers to an evaluation of a student’s educational needs conducted by a qualified examiner who is not employed by the school district. Parents have the right to request an IEE if they disagree with the results of the school's evaluation of their child, which is part of the special education process under the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).

• We accept Blue Cross Blue Shield, Aetna, and Cigna insurance for parent consultation and child therapy.

We accept most private insurance plans. We are not in network with any Medicaid plans.

Insurance coverage varies among different providers, and reimbursement cannot be guaranteed.

Self-pay rates vary based on the service provided (therapy, testing, consultation, workshops, groups) and the provider (psychologist, therapist, intern, educator).

We offer reduced-rate self-pay options and pro-bono consultations for those on a limited budget.
•
Payment is due at the time of the appointment and can be made in cash, checks, or credit cards.
•
For evaluations, 50% of the fee is due at the first session, and the remaining 50% is due at the feedback session.
•
Cancellations must be made at least 48 hours in advance to avoid a fee. Last-minute cancellations and missed appointments will be assessed a fee.

Texas public schools offer free psychoeducational and psychological evaluations to students enrolled in public, private, and homeschool programs. Contact us for more information on how to request these services through the local school district.

Clinical Director
is a Licensed Psychologist with extensive experience in evaluating and treating children and adolescents. She specializes in Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), ADHD, Early Childhood Developmental Disorders, Social Skills, and Parenting. She offers consultations, Independent Educational Evaluations (IEE), and therapy services.
Penny Sweeney, MA
Executive Function Specialist
Penny Sweeney, MA, is a highly experienced Special Educator with over 20 years in the fields of mental health and special education. As our Executive Function Specialist, Penny specializes in helping individuals develop essential cognitive and organizational skills. She offers a range of services, including Parent Coaching, social skills education, and Executive Function coaching, designed to enhance time management, emotional regulation, and problem-solving abilities. Penny’s expertise, coupled with her compassionate approach, makes her an invaluable asset in empowering clients to reach their goals.
Erika Willis, MA, LPCS, LSSP
Therapist
has over 15 years of experience in the public school setting, offering behavioral consultation and social skills counseling to children with autism, ADHD, and emotional/behavioral difficulties. She aims to help children express their feelings and problem solve effectively. She is a Licensed Specialist in School Psychology and a Licensed Professional Counselor.

Lynz Costa, LMSW
Therapist
Lynz believes in a holistic approach while helping clients manage anger, depression, anxiety, childhood trauma, codependency, family relations, faith-transitions, women- empowerment, and more. She provides a comfortable and fun atmosphere for children and adults to explore their strengths and challenges using techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy, Play Therapy and other modalities based on client needs. She is an associate level therapist with an LMSW and is under the direct supervision of a fully licensed therapist. She is trained in Trust Based Relational Intervention, and has had amazing experience as an educator for seven years in the public school setting working with kids with special needs and behavioral issues. She believes in the inherent worth and strength of every person, and that therapy should feel like a gift someone gives themselves. She uses a supportive and client-centered approach to guide children and adults through life’s challenges in a gentle non-threatening way.
Logan Saley, LPC-A, LMFT-A
Therapist
Logan’s areas of expertise include treating anxiety and depression, children’s behavioral issues, ADHD and autism, relationship dysfunction, parenting concerns, attachment issues, and life transitions. She works with children and adolescents, and adult individuals. She receives supervision from Erika Willis, LPCS, LSSP.
Logan uses play therapy to help children express feelings and manage big emotions. A focus on attachment-based therapy hel uncover patterns, heal wounds, and build healthier interactions. She also is trained in Emotion-Focused Therapy to help people better identify, understand and regulate their emotions and improve relationships.
Logan is deeply committed to supporting individuals, couples, families, children, and adolescents on their journey to emotional well-being. Her passion for family and relational work is at the heart of her practice, striving to create a warm, welcoming environment where everyone feels heard and valued.
Holland Ellis, CMHC
Intern
Holland is a student Intern nearing completion of her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling, and is supervised by Dr. Becky Siekierski. Her experience and academic background has provided a foundation for her to provide impactful services to diverse groups of people. She is passionate about providing quality therapy to children and teens, especially those in the deaf and hard of hearing communities. Being hard of hearing herself, Holland is adept at nonverbal communication which allows her to be skillful at working with clients who do not have access to language that allows them to articulate their thoughts and emotions. Holland has a litany of experiences, including her role as a social-emotional learning (SEL) intern at Austin Discovery School. She utilizes various modalities, including mindfulness and relaxation techniques, emotional regulation strategies, narrative therapy techniques, and art and expressive therapies, depending on the client’s specific needs and abilities. She would love to hear from you and begin working with your child or teen to be happier and more successful in everything they do.
Samantha Shelton, CMHC
Intern
Sam is a student intern completing her master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health, and supervised by Dr. Becky Siekierski. She has experience working with all ages and is skilled at treating people with depression, anxiety, and mood disorders, anger management , and trauma. In her work she uses Solution Focused Brief Therapy, CBT, and Narrative Therapy. She incorporates a lot of mindfulness and strengths-based techniques to help people learn to manage their emotions resolve thinking errors. She has immediate openings and would appreciate hearing from you to help you begin working towards a happier, more peaceful life.

Practice Coordinator
She has extensive knowledge in customer service and administrative duties. Karen oversees our front office and is one of our friendly team members that will be your first point of contact with A New View. She will patiently listen to your concerns and match you with the therapist that best fits. Whether it’s helping to problem-solve payment issues or addressing scheduling matters, she will make herself available at every opportunity. Karen ensures the office is running seamlessly and consistently providing high quality services to our clients.
