Emily Martin, ACMHC
Therapist
I treat teens (ages 13+) and adults. At times I also lead an in-person DBT (Dialectical Behavioral Therapy) group for individuals wanting to learn and apply DBT skills. Common issues that I have helped clients with include: depression, anxiety, PTSD, bipolar disorder, ADHD, suicidal ideation, conflicts in family relationships (including marriage), faith crisis, self-harm, grief and loss, and overcoming past trauma. I consider myself an ally and welcome working with members of the LGBTQ+ community.
I typically use EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) therapy. Through EMDR sessions, disturbing memories are neutralized, and negative self-beliefs are identified and challenged. This is intense emotional work, but it can often bring great relief. In addition, I often utilize techniques from Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT).
My therapeutic style is non-judgmental, honest, supportive, and caring. I seek to create a relationship of trust and understand what people have been through in their lives. I hope you will schedule to come see me and together we will begin the process of resolving those things that are troubling to you.
